One Bridgeland Green, is the first office building made of solid wood elements in the greater Houston area. This type of modern timber construction is intended to set a standard for a more sustainable future for such buildings. It is part of the shared Bridgeland project by Howard Hughes Holdings Inc.

The office building is characterized by its gabled roof with a linear dome and has large balconies on each floor. The design challenge for Lake | Flato Architects and Kirksey Architecture was to create an efficient structure that met the owner's vision of sustainable, state-of-the-art office space with solid wood.

The HASSLACHER CLT braced walls are designed to withstand the high wind loads common in the Gulf Coast region. A glulam skeleton structure forms the primary load-bearing system, which absorbs and transfers the loads from the stacked board floor above. The project is expected to achieve LEED Gold and Fitwell certification. The users of the building should feel the love of nature of a solid timber construction and benefit from it, true to the motto “From wood to wonders.”
