As part of a general overhaul of the Bristol County Agricultural High School campus in Dighton, Massachusetts, the student residence was completed in 2021. The timber frame building provides spaces for working and studying, socializing and dining. The student residence also has multimedia rooms and a roof terrace, while the canteen feautres a gallery, making the space bright and inviting. The visible load-bearing structure made of glued laminated timber is intended to help introduce students to timber as a renewable raw and building material.
The barn, in which a state-of-the-art milking system is installed, was also built using timber construction. For the entire project, the HASSLACHER group supplied glued laminated timber and glulam ceiling systems from the Sachsenburg site.
