The Ede-Wageningen Railway Station is the largest railway station in the city of Ede and a central node in the city's public transport system. It serves several national, regional and international trains. The town of Wageningen, which lends it one part of its name, is located some eight kilometres south of Ede. The station was opened on 16 May 1845 with the Amsterdam-Arnhem route. In 2023, it was completely rebuilt and is now situated a few metres east of the original location. It represents an important node in the public transport system of the communities of Ede and Wageningen. The area surrounding the station was also reconstructed and now combines two residential districts with one another.

The new Ede-Wageningen Railway Station was built by ProRail, NS and the community of Ede. It comprises a new bus station, new bicycle parking facilities, improved pedestrian and bicycle paths and more parking spaces. The platform roofs are particularly impressive. These giant glued laminated timber triangles are divided into main beams as well as secondary, tertiary and quaternary beams. The triangles' main beams span 27 metres each and serve as the side edges of the individual triangles. They were pre-assembled on the ground and then installed above the rails during two breaks in traffic. The secondary, tertiary and quartenary beams form the inner structure of the roofs, protecting the passengers from the sun and rain together with the glass roofs. The roofs continue into the station building and the adjacent clock tower.

In order to keep rail traffic disturbances to a minimum, all 23 triangles were installed above the platforms and rails on just two weekends.
In addition to the main roof, two further roofs above the station building and the bicycle parking area were implemented.

The overall project had been commissioned by the EdesPoort client conglomerate and executed in collaboration with De Groot Vroomshoop. For this pioneering project, the HASSLACHER Group supplied 1,100m² of glued laminated spruce timber from its site in Kleinheubach (HASSLACHER Holzbauteile GmbH & Co. KG, Kleinheubach). Planning, project management, production and delivery to the construction site was courtesy of HESS Timber.
