LeopoldQuartier OFFICE: Sustainable innovation in urban environment

A flagship project of timber hybrid construction is being created in Vienna's Leopoldstadt district: LeopoldQuartier. As part of this new district, LeopoldQuartier OFFICE relies on sustainable building and future-oriented work environments.

The office building combines the benefits of an urban location with recuperation in green surroundings. Nestled in between the Augarten Park, Donaukanal and the Wettstein Park, it offers some 22,000 square metres of state-of-the-art office space across nine storeys. Flexible room concepts, natural wood surfaces and innovative heating / cooling sail technology create an inspiring and comfortable work environment. The concept is rounded off by restaurant and retail spaces providing an optimum work-life balance.

      Focus on sustainability

4,000 m³ of glued spruce wood products were used to build LeopoldQuartier. These bind the carbon from around 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the long term.

      Self-sufficient energy supply

More than 1,000 photovoltaics panels with a combined output of 425 kWp and a geothermal energy system provide an almost self-sufficient energy supply. The project saves some 330 tonnes of carbon annually when compared with traditional energy sources.

      The HASSLACHER Group's role

By supplying glued laminated timber supports, joists and Attica elements, the HASSLACHER Group contributed significantly to this innovative building project. Combining concrete, composite timber ceilings and prefabricated elements provides stability, efficiency and a sustainable building method.

LeopoldQuartier OFFICE shows how modern architecture, sustainability and urban quality of life can go hand in hand in a building project.
