Sustainable mobility meets innovative timber construction!

On February 26th 2025, the first Mer location within the Deutschlandnetz was officially inaugurated in Künzelsau, featuring a sustainable timber canopy by the HASSLACHER Group.

This electric vehicle charging station is the inaugural project under the Deutschlandnetz infrastructure initiative, a collaboration between Mer Germany and the HASSLACHER Group. Commissioned by Mer Germany, a provider of charging solutions for electric and hybrid vehicles, the station showcases a structure composed of glued laminated timber (glulam). The roof is equipped with photovoltaic panels supplied by Sonnenkraft GmbH. This design sets the standard for future charging parks across Germany, with plans to replicate this concept at numerous additional sites in the coming years.

      Key features include:

      • 8 charging points delivering up to 400 kW for ultra-fast charging
      • An aesthetically pleasing timber canopy providing weather protection and promoting sustainability
      • Integrated photovoltaic system harnessing renewable energy

This project marks a significant milestone in advancing the energy transition and the future of mobility.
