ZERO. Office building in Stuttgart-Möhringen sets new standards in modern timber construction. On the former Hansa plot, an innovative building is being erected with prefabricated wood modules. Its module design allows for fast and efficient execution of this project. The prefabricated wood modules are delivered just in time and assembled on site; this reduces construction and construction costs. Additionally, their controlled production ensures consistent and accurate quality of elements. Roughly, 300 m² of rental space were created on the first day. A total of more than 400 jobs makes this project the largest timber building of its type in the city of Stuttgart, Germany.

With the five-storey building, ZERO., Stuttgart-based architecture office Riehle Koeth designed a distinct building with slightly projecting storeys which are pleasing to the eye and offer natural wood protection. A visible wood facade highlights the building's sustainable character, making a statement for modern timber construction.

For this project, the HASSLACHER Group delivered a total of 1,700 m³ glued laminated timber. Its high degree of prefabrication was essential for the other trades involved. This was exemplified in the fact that a part of the glued laminated timber was delivered with all joinery completed and wooden surfaces coated. Block-bonded supports (composite elements) were produced at the HASSLACHER Group's Hermagor site and directly delivered to the Stuttgart construction site. A portion of the glued laminated timber was also delivered to two other locations which processed them to modules on their serial production lines.
