The timber ambassador from Lungau

The new sports, family and leisure center ""Lungau Arena"" in St. Michael am Lungau was completed in 2023. Already during the competition phase, the municipality was keen to use wood in a constructive and economically appropriate way. The fact that this has been a complete success is also confirmed by the award given by proHolz Salzburg as a “timber ambassador” for exemplary and sustainable construction with wood.

The facility not only includes football and tennis courts as well as a beach volleyball court, but a curling hall as well, which is also used for concerts, ceremonies and exercises by emergency organizations. The facility is built in concrete on the basement floor and in timber above.

The HASSLACHER group supplied around 160 m³ of gable roof trusses (glued laminated timber special components) from the Hermagor site and 250 m³ of cross laminated timber for walls and ceilings with X-fix from Stall in Mölltal for the project.
