Austria's tallest boarding school building in timber construction

The new boarding school building at the Holztechnikum Kuchl opened in time for the start of school in 2023. Six storeys of modular timber construction sit on an exposed concrete base.
NORITEC Holzindustrie in Stall im Mölltal, a company of the HASSLACHER group, supplied 536 m³ of cross-laminated timber, 242 m³ of which had an excellent surface finish. In addition, around 80 m³ of glued laminated timber was used, supplied by the NORITEC Holzindustrie's site in Sachsenburg.

The other half of the cross laminated timber was supplied by Mayr-Melnhof Holz. The contractor, purelivin Kaufmann Bausysteme, processed the cross-laminated timber elements into modules.
