As the former largest freight station, the "Gare Maritime" can look back on an eventful history. The historic complex which is Europe's largest glulam project in the middle of Brussels, consists of seven interconnected, historic halls and has been converted into a large covered event complex with shops, restaurants, offices and event rooms.
Twelve four-storey buildings in pure wood construction made of cross-laminated timber and glued laminated timber were erected in it, with a large staircase and a supply core being built in the center of each building, which is also used to brace the building. For this major project, the HASSLACHER Group supplied 5,760 m³ of glued laminated timber from its locations Hermagor and Kleinheubach as well as 170 m³ of cross laminated timber from the CLT mill in Stall in Mölltal.
