“musik&kultur” extension to the existing cultural hall
With the ""musik&kultur"" extension the St. Magdalena am Lemberg traditional costume and music club moves even closer to the town centre, as the extension directly connects the cultural hall and club house. More space - especially for the members of the traditional costume and music club and the kindergarden - was the main reason for this ambitious project. The building houses an approx. 110 m² rehearsal room, a common room with kitchen, a suitcase room for the instruments and a foyer. Main benefits: Synergies with the existing cultural hall (the members can use the current washrooms and heating system), the central location and the avoidance of additional ground sealing by extending the existing Bavarian curling complex.
When designing the building itself, great attention was given to ecology and energy efficiency which resulted in a "klimaaktiv" certificate by the Federal Ministry. The timber extension was executed by Holz&Bau Hirschböck from Hartberg, whose Managing Director Wolfang Raser also served as its designer. The walls were built in efficient lightweight timber construction using structural finger jointed solid timber. The ceilings and roof were made from glued laminated timber in visual and industrial quality. The large canopy consists of cross laminated timber with our excellent spruce surface quality.
