Built in 2021, the natural swimming pool in Stockenboi is located on the eastern shore of Lake Weissensee. At 930 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest swimming lakes in the Alps and is known in summer for its crystal-clear, emerald-green water and in winter for its so-called mirror ice, which attracts visitors mainly from Holland.
For the new construction of the Stockenboi natural pool, a compact, two-story, elongated structure was created with a north-south orientation.
Both the construction and the choice of materials were based on the traditional boathouses around Lake Weissensee and were largely executed using Hemi solid wood.
The HASSLACHER Group supplied around 220 m² of planed surfaced larch timber for this natural swimming pool in the middle of the Gailtal Alps, which was manufactured at HASSLACHER Preding Holzindustrie. This project was awarded a recognition prize within the framework of the Holzbaupreis Kärten.
